“IT’S TIME TO GET DOWN TO BUSINESS”

One historical moment should not make a nation content and lax! Many times people wonder how the hell saying “Cease Fire” can bring about the results that are needed. We stress the unity message whether in prayer, service or prevention.

The passive approach taken in addressing the violent and ignorant destruction that takes place in our neighborhoods is no longer acceptable. It really bothers everyone at Cease Fire when we meet with politicians or public servants to discuss suggestions of ways to bring a cease to the gun violence on the streets. What these politicians make clear is the feeling that if 60% of the people in any particular district don’t seem to care then why should they. It hurts to agree with this ideology but the lack of accountability people have for their own surroundings proves politicians to be right. So I figured, for clarity, we would give you a clear objective of Cease Fire. We seek to get SIXTY PERCENT of every district’s approval that a cease fire is necessary or that we want to prevent any kind of shots fired in our community.

We need a massive signature drive. We need everyone to take the initiative to sign twelve people up by our online or mail in petition. We’ve taken the time to design a preventive system that will force guns, knives and drugs out of the hands of our youth. The signatures will give Cease Fire the voice and power needed to bring solutions. The first thing we must all admit is that we’ve lost contact with our youth. Because of this we’re stunned and clueless as to how to handle the violence that plays out on our very doorsteps, houses, schools, playgrounds, restaurants and neighborhood corners. We’ve designed a system that will change all of that! We feel it’s time to come up with a safe haven that will be placed in every community of this nation. The safe haven is a place that will distract our children from wandering to the unwanted, undesired parts of town we don’t want them near. These safe havens will be equipped with everything from internet access equipment to equipment to be used for recording and producing their own music. There will be therapist they can relate to, competitive sporting events, job training, drug counseling and video game competitions. These safe havens will be places of safety that have all the things our children are interested in that are becoming limited to obtain on the taxpayer’s dime. The only way to have public funds allocated to help safeguard the public is by having people in full agreement and solid unity.

The problem with getting safe havens established for our youth is that it will cause a financial crisis to the prison industrial complex. There are people who will still need to be locked up, but when we give our youth more opportunities and more options the choices between doing right and doing wrong begin to grow instead of only having the option to do wrong. The business of fixing the violent rage on the streets is strictly up to you and your neighbors. Tell people to Cease Fire today. Tell them to sign up; get involved with implementing other options in the community besides street corner crime. Cease Fire! Stop wasting valuable time because that time may be another child that may not live to see his next birthday!
